Join us as our new Production Manager
This position works under limited direction and is primarily responsible for ensuring the safe manufacture of probiotic end consumer goods in a dietary supplement environment through meeting quality standards, commercial needs and customer delivery requirements at the lowest possible cost.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
+ Taking a leadership and proactive role in employee and workplace safety and environment; leading from the front. Having an active and visible role for safety and environment.
+ Staying curious and creating a community of trust by championing continuous improvement in production using the Novonesis internal CI processes (elements of LEAN, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System).
+ Being responsible for product quality and food safety for the manufacturing process. Taking a proactive and leadership role in quality.
+ Coordinating and adapting to larger or critical production activities with planning, procurement, maintenance, engineering, and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of resources.
+ Overseeing the entire production process from Blending through Finished Goods Production.
+ Implementing and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures for manufacturing operations to align key performance indicators and capabilities with the long-term strategy of the business unit.
+ Championing current and future customer needs through new project participation, complaint investigations and corrective actions, strategy development participation, and execution.
+ Developing leaders within production to help build ownership, take action to drive value, act with integrity, and inspire and grow together.
+ Developing and encouraging the growth of employees through training and other development processes and opportunities.
+ Being responsible for business case development for large capital projects within the Production area and executing select small capital projects.
+ Participating in and leading cross-functional teams for the continuous, ongoing improvement of methods and processes.
+ Acting as a technical resource to manufacturing, commercial product development, and quality.
+ Being responsible for production cost center budgets and spend; developing an understanding of unit costs and driving to improve.
+ Working closely with Planning, Maintenance, and Engineering to maximize the use of downtime and minimize the effect on service. Being responsible for production activities for plant/area shutdowns.
+ Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
To succeed you must hold:
+ Strong verbal, written, communication, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment. This position has both direct and indirect reports.
+ Ability to make administrative, procedural or employment-related decisions in a dynamic environment.
+ Ability to work in local and global cross-functional environment.
+ Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma, Toyota Production System preferred
+ Knowledge of dry production processes and related quality and safety activities
+ Experience in working with SAP or JDE. Preferably the production and material related modules.
+ Experience within a regulated industry (i.e. Food, Processing, Medical Device, Pharma, Supplements)
+ Proficient with Excel and Statistical software tools. Use of data historian front ends preferred, such as Aveva PI Vision.
+ These characteristics are normally acquired through a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and five plus (5+) years of operations management experience.
