Mine Engineer (F/M/X)

 

About the role

Our Mine Engineer Engineering  department, composed of 7 people, is integrated with the Mine Operations and Mine Utility teams and focuses on safe and proficient mine engineering standards to assist all mine departments       resulting in a collaborative effort in order to meet mine goals of Safety, Cost, Quality, Productivity and Morale.  The job function will assist mine operations with implementation, and execution of the department’s strategic goals and objectives for short and long range mine plans.  Opportunities exist to contribute to the Solmax (Maintenance Excellence), Star Factory and other mine transformation objectives and have a positive impact on the organization while working to improve the employee experience. You will be accountable for: Assures a safe work environment with the goal of three rings of safety, zero injuries, one task at a time. Assurance of compliance with regulatory laws within the scope of mine engineering and mine projects. Development, and continuation of mine ventilation circuits for efficient mine ventilation and ensure consistency with production plans. Assures the continuous and efficient production of production sections in accordance with quality, productivity and mine planning targets and the short and long term mine plans. Works closely with mine staff, mine foreman and mine employees to develop, plan and execute mine capital and operating expense projects. to maximize productivity by developing skills.  We offer at-will employment based on site currently working but not limited to a 4/10 schedule.  Schedule will require additional hours or 5/8 schedule, weekend work dependent on mine operations (Longwall move schedule can occur on weekends and holidays)

 

About you

    

Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited institution is required.     Underground mining experience (0 – 5 yrs.) and core hole and other drilling activities is a plus and ability/desire to acquire Wyoming State Mine Examiners and Mine Foreman Certification “papers”. Competencies: Effective Communication Business process oriented     Safety process orientated and exhibit safety leadership Behaviors: Effective communication skills working with miners, foreman and managers. Adaptability to changing projects, direction and break-in work, collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking Regular attendance and work necessary hours for project coordination, communication and execution.

 

About the pay and benefits

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the United States base pay reasonably expected for this role is $102,000 to $125,000/year, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
