Production Operator – Louisville, KY

12-hour schedule Nightshift schedule (6:00 pm to 6:00 am) Overtime is available. Must be available Monday-Friday 8am-4pm for the first 2 months for initial training. The typical shift schedule is two-week schedule including weekends, that rotates with 3 total nights/week working, 4 total nights/week off and reverses the following week to 4 total nights/week working and 3 total nights/week off.Initial pay is $26.00 per hour paid biweekly for an initial probationary period. Once trained, qualified and you have been signed off on your training checklist, the pay can increase to full contract rate of $33.54/hr.

As a Production Operator, you will safely perform all tasks associated with batch chemical manufacturing. Common examples of daily job tasks include the following: operating mobile equipment, weighing and charging raw materials to tanks, following written and computerized work instructions, transferring products from vessels to storage tanks, drumming, cleaning tanks and associated piping, and performing housekeeping items. 

You will become part of a team of operators who are responsible for meeting daily production requirements to support customer needs.  You will be expected to work safely, following both verbal and written work instructions and procedures as well.

During your 12-hour shift as a Production Operator, you will Successfully conduct routine inspections and monitor equipment such as pumps, storage tanks, instrumentation, utilities, safety equipment, tools, etc.  Responsible for preparing equipment for operation and maintenance, cleaning and troubleshooting equipment problems.  Apply your working knowledge of the mechanics and operations of process equipment (pumps, valves, agitators, instrumentation, controls, etc.) in a production, manufacturing or industrial plant.  Utilize your experience with SAP or other databases. Utilizing safety practices and techniques related to the chemical industry, (Safe Work Permits (SWP), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, etc.), following operation procedures, site standards and policies and following International Organizational Standards (ISO), OSHA and Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) programs.You will primarily work indoors with limited use of ladders, while potentially lifting, pulling and operating manual process equipment.  Additional, flexibility on working additional hours and/or experience with forklift operation is helpful.Transfer, monitor and control raw material, chemical and product flows & handling and transferring materials for bulk storage tanks, tote bins, drums, bags etc. to adjust and make products. The role also involves taking product sample for quality control testing and wearing PPE equipment, when necessary.

 

Formula for Success ... High School diploma/GED and 2 years of manufacturing, industrial or chemical experience.Ability to lift 50 lbs, be able to stand for long periods of time, and walk up and down ladders/stairs.Experience with Microsoft Office products, SAP or other databases/computer boards  Work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow. Willingness and ability to stay on site for breaks and lunches.Opportunity to join the ICWU Union Local 663C after training period of a minimum of 180 days. A workplace where safety is the #1 value
