The Savannah GAF Plant is located just a few miles from downtown Savannah where you can find the trendiest of art boutiques or the oldest architecture under the haunting veil of Spanish moss and Live Oak trees. Just anther few miles down the road is Tybee Island, with beaches, shops and amazing restuarants. The GAF Savannah Plant runs two production lines which manufacture Modified Bitumen rolled roofing products and Residential shingles, ridge caps and rolled products since 1968. We are nestled next to the Georgia Ports and many other industrial plants on the Savannah River. There is no better time to come join our team and protect what matters most.

Schedule: Rotating schedule - Must be able to work all days of the week (days off will rotate)

Weekly rotating schedule – Must be able to work all shifts: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift and occasional 12 hour shifts.

Function Overview:
The right candidate will be invited to join the Savannah Plant team and continue a legacy of over 50 years of successful operations in this location. We operate two production lines that produce rolled roofing products for both commercial and residential applications.

Summary:
The Savannah Modified Bitumen (Modbit) plant Production Operator is the entry level position that will be the springboard into a career path with the GAF team. This position will have the opportunity to bid into other operations jobs within the Savannah Plant as they come available.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain housekeeping of work area
Actively engage in all finishing end activities in the Modbit plant
Monitor selvedge edge tape and other areas to ensure quality of product
Wrap finished rolled product or operate the box maker
Ensure quality control of finished product
Communication with other production operators, leaders and supervisors
Ability to troubleshoot issues at the first point of contact

Physical Demands:

Ability to frequently move about to accomplish tasks or more from one work area to another
Ability to position self to bend, pull, and reach overhead and/or below shoulder level to perform machine functions, lifting, carrying and moving of products/materials frequently.
Ability to move up to 50 lbs frequently
Ability to work/operate machinery in a constant state of alertness frequently

High School Diploma or GED
6+ months of experience in a manufacturing / production environment
Under This Roof, We Also Value:

Ability to work rotating shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays
Preferred to have basic computer skills
