Production Operator I - Day Shift

Responsible for ensuring quality and packaging of CertainTeed Corner products in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining high productivity and a low scrap rate. Maintain a positive team environment and a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement. Qualified in Operator and Tail-Off position to a limited product set as defined below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Working Safe. Follows procedures, checklists, and safety protocols Qualified to Tail-Off a production line producing: NoCoat O/S 90, NoCoat 325, Levelline O/S 90, Levelline Flex, Qualified to Operate a production line producing: NoCoat O/S 90, NoCoat 325, Levelline O/S 90, Levelline Flex Inspect products for flaws and defects, immediately alert the team of any problems or defects immediately, and package each product correctly Keep lines and production floor clean and free of debris and stocked for incoming shifts Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e. work orders), read and understand specifications for all products Keep supervisors, operators, and other teammates informed of all problems or relative production concerns Build boxes, clean and maintain printers, keep track of tools and equipment, and ensure all needed supplies are available Work closely with team members to be more efficient, troubleshooting problems and helping find new or better solutions Participate in and promote continuous improvement ideas Set up and have the ability to start up a production line from idle to a run state LOTO trained (Lock Out/Tag Out) Knowledge and ability to use appropriate quality inspection tools to ensure quality and reproducibility Able to perform warehouse checks

WORKING CONDITIONS

Long hours are sometimes necessary to meet deadlines. Night shift work is required for some candidates. The working environment will include extended periods of standing and seasonal temperature extremes occur during peak summer months. These environments may include exposure to industrial solvents, above-average noise levels, and hazardous materials, all of which must be mitigated with Personal Protective Equipment.
