Production Operator (Mat Plant)

Shafter is a city in Kern County, California, United States. It is located 18 miles west-northwest of Bakersfield. Historically, much of Shafter's economy has been based on agriculture and ag-related industry. Local crops include almonds, pistachios, cotton, grapes and alfalfa as well as some carrots, potatoes and other vegetables. More recently Shafter has become a hub for a variety of economic endeavors including; manufacturing, logistics, and energy. There are two manufacturing plants in Shafter across the street from each other Mat and Shingle. We are proud to work for one of the largest manufacturing companies in America!

The Production Operator position offers an hourly rate of $24.76. The Production Operator will support the production of high-quality roofing materials through accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of manufacturing processes to include machine operation, quality verification, packaging, housekeeping & forklift operation.

Essential Duties

Record daily production data and enter into appropriatedatabasesMaintain production line area and take initiative to prevent issuesAssist in problem solving and troubleshooting of production line issues as neededLearn new production areas as time allowsUtilize effective communication skills on the production lineAccomplish daily tasks relative to production line area asassignedWork accident-free and comply with all federal, state andlocal company safety standardsContinually strive to meet individual goals and professional standardsComplete all documentation per standardsPerform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications Required

High School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 6 months required in a manufacturing/industrial environment; 1-2 years preferred
