Boise Cascade in Chester is seeking Plywood Production Operator Trainees. This is a non-climate controlled mill, meaning temperatures can be very high in the summer and cold in the winter. Production Trainees are utilized in a general laborer capacity with opportunities for advancement.
Multiple Shifts Available as follows:
Two days on, Two Days off, Three days on, Two days off rotation -- 7:00pm - 7:30am -- Every other weekend is a 3-day weekend off. (48 hours one week, 36 hours the next week) Monday - Friday 11:00pm - 7:30am (40-48 hours per week) -- with weekend availability as required to meet Production demands. As a Production Associate, you will support machine operators and learn how to run the green end, dryer, layup and saw lines. THIS POSITION WILL LIKELY BE FOR THE EVENING OR NIGHT SHIFT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. A Day In The Life Typically Includes: Using blowers, shovels, and pitch forks to clean up debris in and around machines to ensure a safe work environment for all employees Acting as a relief operator to cover other employees’ breaks and vacations Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures while proactively seeking out potential safety hazards Assisting team members throughout the plant as needed during the production of plywood and veneer What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications: 2 Years Manufacturing Experience or Verifiable High School Diploma / GED with or without experience. The ideal candidate will have the following types of work experience: minimum of six (6) months’ work experience in a farming, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, construction, warehouse, military, production or manufacturing environment; OR minimum of six (6) months’ of mechanical technical schooling or training; Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs routinely Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day We offer a benefits package designed to have a positive impact on all areas of your life – from health and well-being, career and community, to financial security and personal safety.
