Production Planner
We are seeking a Production Planner to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient flow of production by managing customer orders and inventory effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong planning experience, particularly within a contract manufacturing environment, and will leverage advanced Excel skills to enhance operational processes. Key Responsibilities + Order Monitoring: Track customer orders from initial receipt through production, packaging, and shipping phases, maintaining open communication with supervisors. + Production Scheduling: Transform customer orders into Master Planning Schedule (MPS) and production plans to meet on-time delivery targets. + Inventory Management: Ensure availability of inventory and raw materials required for production, anticipating needs in advance of processing. + Capacity Analysis: Analyze production plans for capacity and manpower, identifying constraints and trends on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. + Collaboration: Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to prioritize requests and resolve customer issues promptly. + Forecasting: Collaborate with customers’ supply chain teams on long-range and short-range planning to align production with demand. + Meeting Participation: Coordinate and participate in production meetings, contributing to the planning and implementation of project goals. + Bill of Materials Support: Assist in the development and maintenance of Bills of Materials. + Process Improvement: Utilize supply chain systems to streamline scheduling processes and enhance operational efficiencies. + Compliance: Follow established SOPs, cGMP regulations, and company policies to maintain safety and quality standards. Qualifications + Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; BA/BS degree or applicable business training preferred. + Experience: Minimum of 5 years of planning experience in a fast-paced work environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food industries. + Experience in a contract manufacturing environment is desired.
