Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for the planning of parts and services necessary for the execution of customer orders. Planners provide support for assigned Voith Turbo Divisions.

Planners also provide the logistical expertise necessary to turn sales orders for assigned product lines into invoiced deliveries, meeting both customer expectations as well as company and department goals.

               

Responsibilities

Supports the planning team Meets the needs of assigned profit centers Understands and complies with Company procedures and work instructions Support with continuous improvement efforts of the Company procedures and work instructions Support with continuous improvement efforts of the facility Attends daily standup production meetings if required Manages assigned Projects Sets up part numbers/item cards Supports part numbers/item cards/bill of material maintenance Creating manufacturing orders Production scheduling Material and resource planning Planning of purchased parts Releasing orders for shipment Releasing orders for invoicing Maintains order files (sales, service & manufacturing) current and long term Interaction and teamwork with other Production Planners, Buyers, Shop and Warehouse employees, Quality Manager, Inspector, Sales department employees, and Finance Department employees Interaction with customers as needed. Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent in a technical or business discipline and/or 3-5 years in a company that manufactures or services machinery preferred Logistical experience (domestic and/or import/export) preferred. Training in lean methodology is a plus Good oral and written communication Good interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to prioritize assignments General knowledge of inventory and accounting practices preferred General knowledge of office equipment, computers, scanners etc. IT literate, high level of accuracy. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and MRP/ERP systems ( Microsoft Navision a plus )

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Must be able to work at desk/computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment. Must be able to walk up flights of stairs, elevator available if needed. This position requires both domestic and international travel therefore the incumbent must be able to meet COVID-19 travel guidelines as defined by each country of travel.
