The primary goals of the Production Planner are to support the Global short-term planning processes (0 - 90 days) and the exception management process across the specific Value Stream in which assigned. Ensure that all requirements of Manufacturing, Warehouse, Procurement, and Business Planning are met. Support all Supply Planning processes to meet best-in-class mid-term and short-term supply planning and exception resolution, which include all “make, move, and buy” decisions, production scheduling, deployment scheduling, material scheduling, and management of all mid-term and short-term planning management routines (e.g., PAT, ITP meetings, Scheduling Review meetings, etc.) for the Value Stream.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Performs planning function in accordance with GT global and plant standards.
 Utilizes MRP reports to review new order requirements and stock availability. Works closely with Manufacturing and other site personnel to ensure information and accurate production plans are established and executed.
 Liaises with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing and other planners to estimate lead-time based on delivery requirements and to ensure on time delivery. Identifies issues affecting delivery dates and advises Sales, Customer Service, and/or other planners as required.
 Assist in quoting lead times on new part number items based on capacity, equipment capabilities, raw or intermediate inventories, and tooling. Makes recommendations for lot sizing, and other master data related to material masters and routers as required.
 Uses capacity planning tools paired with contractual obligations and current inventories. Identifies patterns or future capacity constraints that affect manufacturing. Performs analysis regarding capacity management and pro-actively manages capacity
constraints.
 Support Planning tools for short-term requirements (SAP Finite Scheduling, SAP Exception Message Management), inventory management/optimization, and MRP software (SAP ECC)

 

Required Minimum Qualifications - Education/Certifications: High School or equivalent required/ Bachelor’s Degree preferred

 

Required Minimum Qualifications -Skills and Experience:  

2+ years of experience in manufacturing environment with bachelor’s degree / 5+ years of in manufacturing environment without bachelor’s degreeA solid knowledge of ERP Systems, master data, and capacity planningAdvanced computer skills using Microsoft Office and other software tools.Ability to plan and operate with minimal supervision.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced and dynamically changing environment.Solid skills related to logic and/or math-based analysis are required.Ability to think strategic and analytical, problem solving, and root cause analysis combined with proven ability to communicate those analysis.Ability to collaborate cross functional teams and execute a process driven disciplined approached

 

Skills and Experience (Preferred):

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain and logistics, business management or similar fieldCertification in 1+ of the following: Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), Reveal Methodologies, Lean Six Sigma
