Production Planner

The Production Planner develops and coordinates production schedules based on customer orders, delivery requirements and internal capacity constraints. Donaldson possesses great industry breadth and diversity of products, which affords flexibility in growing your career as you gain experience.  In this role you will work on a variety of filtration products, as part of our Baldwin, WI location.

Role Responsibilities:

Plans and develops weekly production line schedules of assigned departments based on customer needs, external material lead-times and available internal capacity.

May schedule rework, unfinished parts and assemblies, change orders to existing orders, new production orders, aftermarket orders and special orders.

Establishes effective communication with various groups such as customer service, sales, procurement and plant production departments to ensure the on-time delivery of products through monitoring orders from start to finish.

Makes or recommends revisions to production schedules as necessary.

Provides input to production supervisors on utilization of personnel & overtime.

Drives key capacity planning initiatives.

Maintains list of current orders completed awaiting shipping

Keeps supervisors informed of unresolved production scheduling issues requiring attention.

Works in close collaboration with Engineering, Production, Quality and Procurement

Runs daily production meetings with various internal departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

2 years of production planning experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related area

4 years of production planning

Oracle or any other ERP experience

APICS Certification

Strong Organization skills

Strong Attention to Detail

Ability to navigate and handle conversations with both internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner when stress is high

 Strong communication skills – effectively communicate accurate information

Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Ability to adapt and pivot to changing production demands of the business

Strong time management skills

Ability to retain information and use notes/previous knowledge and apply them to similar and unique situations as they arise

Ability to motivate people to push orders through the manufacturing process to ship critical orders out on time

Daily and/or weekly interactions with production floor on the shop floor

Self Starter – leadership skills – desire to take accountability for their actions
