Production Planner - Claremont Cable

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Claremont Cable Production Planner will be responsible for understanding existing practices through training with the current planners, aiming to refine and enhance the scheduling process and cover as needed.​ You will also create efficient schedules and provide necessary information for product lines and/or production work centers.

In addition, you will monitor production processes to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions as necessary. Other duties include:

Prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning and inventory management.Coordinate with fiber allocation/scheduling and the fiber room team lead to monitor and manage fiber inventory.Monitor demand, production, and inventory to propose timely production alternatives and adjust schedules to meet customer demand.Communicate backorder information to relevant internal departments while tracking backorders for all assigned parts.Collaborate with inspection, quality control, suppliers, and others to address and correct defective goods issues.Evaluate resource limitations (materials, equipment, manpower, and container availability) to identify potential bottlenecks.Coordinate with the planners regarding scheduling, capacity, and lead timesSupport the physical inventory process as required.Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GEDPreferred: bachelor’s degree in a related field and three or more years of production planning experience or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.3-5 years of experience in planning, scheduling, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices is a plus.Proficient in computer software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and SAP.Ability to handle internal and external customers with tact and courtesy.Ability to independently organize and prioritize work to meet objectives efficiently.

Skills and Attributes

Strong focus on continuous improvement and quality objectives.Ability to anticipate and plan for potential challenges.Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.Effective in setting priorities that align with project goals and customer expectations.
