The Planner III plans, schedules and coordinates the flow of work and materials that initiates demand internally and externally to drive supply chain; and within or between departments, according to the production schedule. The Planner III is responsible for maintaining and reporting production schedules, which includes but is not limited to capacity and manpower planning to ensure that bottlenecks are prevented or minimized and that work flows through all manufacturing departments as effectively as possible.
Responsibilities Planning, implementing, monitoring, troubleshooting, adjusting, publishing and communicating production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of all customer orders;Knowing and understanding the MRP module and ERP system to resolve demand issues and messages.Examining, improving, streamlining, and standardizing procedures to improve efficiency of work processes.Resolving the day-to-day issues within Production Control and with other departments;Conferring with department management to determine progress of work and completion dates;Providing updates on all programs to Management and report any issues that may impact production schedule;Continuous improvement of processes and procedures;Mentoring team members, training new hires in the department;Providing feedback for annual reviews within the department;Working with the Purchasing department to make sure that parts are ordered and arrive on time;Providing updates at weekly program meetings;Performing other duties as directed. Required Experience/Qualifications High school diploma/GED or above;Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel;3+ years experience in a manufacturing or production environmentMust have working knowledge of ERP systems with an MRP focus (CostPoint a plus);Must be a highly analytical thinker and problem solver. Preferred Experience/Qualifications Experience working in CostPoint’s MRP modules2-3 years Experience with ERP systems with an MRP focus Special Requirements/Security Clearance Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).
