The Toro Company's Shakopee plant is the largest non-engine supplier to toro with 125,000 square feet of production facility. This location produces professional and residential component products. Job Purpose
Work directly with the Planning Team. Deals with multiple suppliers. Develop rapport with both the supplier and buyer. Makes oral and written presentations. Must work with Suppliers, Sourcing and Manufacturing in a professional manner. At the “III” level the Production Planner may serve as a Lead for the Planning and/or have education and experience to support the performance of the team as a subject matter expert. This position will report to the Material Manager within Toro. The production planner influences production capabilities of the site by ensuring raw materials are available to execute production goals.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Planning
Manage and create production schedule to satisfy customer demand
Align schedule with Integrated Business Planning strategy and plant capacities
Monitor and manage supply base delivery performance
Analyze equipment down time, supplier performance, personnel levels and strategically adapt production plan as necessary
Strategically coordinate production plan and maintenance downtime to ensure continuity of customer service
Own and manage planning parameters in ERP system
Own and manage resolution process if production interruptions occur
Inventory Control
Procure raw material and monitor availability for production
Maintain relationships and accountability with raw material, purchased components and subcontract suppliers
Manage inventory and material transactions for area of responsibility
Outsource & Insource
Collaborate with engineering for new component introductions
Manage subcontract work process for planning area as needed

What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Bachelor's degree
2+ years experience in planning or production
Comprehensive ERP Systems knowledge
Other desirable qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate up, down and across a broad swath of peer groups.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and make meaningful inferences from large sets of data
Demonstrated ability using critical thinking to solve problems
Strong collaborator
SAP knowledge

Experience managing projects
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated ability producing and managing production plans and ERP systems in a component fabrication environment
