Production Planning Analyst
Job Description

The Supply & Production Planning Analyst oversees and executes all aspects of planning and production within the Simms’ Bozeman production supply chain.

This position reports to the Director of Sourcing and Supply Chain and is based out of our Bozeman, Montana office.  

As the Supply & Production Planning Manager of Bozeman Operations, you will have an opportunity to:

Execute all related planning activities for Bozeman production including: long range capacity, supply and production planning as well as materials greige planning and position management

Direct PO evaluation, issuance and oversight of execution and corresponding MOQ reviews across the Bozeman production supply chain

Develop relationships and manage direct communication and issue resolution with Bozeman Production key customers and suppliers

Serve as Product Development and Quality interface for upstream inputs and adherence to necessary timelines

Manage Wader costing for current and future seasons

Master current tools and processes and continuously work to identify and implement improvements

The overarching objective of this role is to maximize Wader profitability by maintaining the optimal balance of inventory turns and product availability, while minimizing excess raw material and discontinued product volumes.  Key metrics used to measure effectiveness in this role include:

Inventory turns

Top 25 style dollar weighted availability

Overall availability

DTC availability

Discontinued inventory as a % of revenue

Obsolete fabric exposure

Wader Margins

This is a dynamic cross-functional role, requiring effective partnership across the business.  Key stakeholders include:

Finance and Demand Planning – understanding and integrating the fixed overhead/output and demand forecast that informs supply and production planning

Product Development and Materials teams – gathering product and fabric item information for effective planning

Sales – defining the relative planning prioritization within the Simms Wader product collection

Sourcing – building and implementing a supply plan that is informed by the specific planning requirements and preferences of our manufacturing partners

Purchasing – ensuring operational information accuracy and executing the supply plan within the supply chain

You have:

Persistent curiosity and a willingness to dive into complex processes and models.

Strong communication skills and responsiveness.

Abilities to anticipates issues and proactively identify and execute mitigating solutions

Extremely high attention to detail and obsessive approach to accuracy and error- checking.

Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Navision, and other key infrastructure.

Exceptional cross-functional collaboration

Effective engagement with Simms’ vendor partners, and an ability to communicate clearly with non-native English speakers

Pay Range:

Annual Salary: $58,000.00 - $78,000.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
