Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma, as a Production Scientist, at our 3300 South Second Ave/ Cherokee site, you will manufacture products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others, and perform operations supporting the group and department. Job duties include;

 

Rotating schedule Monday- Friday (1st, 2nd and 3rd shift (including evenings and nights). This role will eventually be rolled into a 24/7 scheduleEvaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others, and perform operations in support of the group and departmentSafely perform operations to meet quality expectationsMaintain required training to perform tasks/assignmentsPerform routine processes and unit operationsClean equipment and working areas during and after operationsSupport functions of the facility (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock supplies, waste disposal)Communicate the status of operations and convey concerns to the supervisorProvide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelinesEnsure all applicable logbooks are completed as required by current proceduresInteract with other departments as needed and perform procedures independently and as part of a teamParticipate and lead as needed in quality audits and customer interactionsImprove processes through the application of scientific knowledge, experience, and principles, in compliance with change controlTake action to resolve unsafe conditionsTroubleshoot challenges for biological processes and GMP complianceTrain team members and act as technical consultantOn the floor time expected 70%

 

Physical Attributes:

Ability to lift up to 50lbsPersonal protective equipment such as a respirator or chemical protective clothing for extended periods

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or any scientific discipline5 + years of GMP life science production experience

                                      OR

Associate’s Degree and 10+ years of GMP life science production experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiar with laboratory instruments and production equipmentClean room experienceProcess techniques and unit operations and safe chemical handling methodsAbility to interact professionally in customer-facing meetings, including challenging discussions on process planning and process executionExperience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)Mechanical and troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of cGMP and ICH Regulatory and Quality standardsKnowledge of Operational Excellence
