Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is currently seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for scientific research to join our team as a Production Scientist I in Antibody Production and Custom Services. Responsibilities:Perform antibody production, purification and testing processes, ensuring flawless execution and adherence to quality standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement new manufacturing processes and techniques.Implement production plans and closely monitor key performance indicators to ensure achievement of targets.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to maintain a continuous and efficient workflow.Strictly adhere to standard operating procedures and safety protocols.Maintain accurate documentation and records of all experiments and production activities.Commit to producing and maintaining the highest standard of quality in antibody productionEnsure timely delivery of production work and projectsPerform with assistance of batch records, standard work instructions, operating procedures or shadowing with a trained associate:Protein isolation and purificationChromatography (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion).  FPLC experience advantageousProtein modification (cross linking, fluorescent, protein and small molecule conjugations)Protein lyophilizationCarrier protein conjugations with peptides or fusion proteinsAntibody purification / modification experienceAntibody validation via various functional tests, i.e. WB / ELISA / IHC / IP / IF / FACSSDS-PAGESmall and large scale buffer preparationsProtein/enzyme assaysUV / VIS Spectrophotometry measurementsSet up and take down of labwareMaintain accurate inventory. Assist the manufacturing support associate and/or material handling in cycle counting or physical inventory as required

Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, such as Biology or a related area.Proven experience in antibody production, purification and immunoassay techniques advantageous.Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, goal-oriented setting.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $25.00–$30.00.
