We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist to join our team at our Plainview, Texas location!

What You Will Do:

Perform Warehouse (forklift operations, collecting of samples, pooling), Harvest (preparation, drying, stabilization) and Packing (lab work, palletizing, and rework) activitiesAssist Technicians in multiple production, warehouse, field, and logistical areas to ensure production goals are accomplishedSupport the oversight of receiving, conditioning, packaging, harvest, return, bagging and warehousing operations to maximize material flow and process efficienciesEnsure employees are properly trained on job duties and equipment as assignedSupport forward plans of oncoming shift and work with other leaders to coordinate workflow and allocation of resources between shifts and departmentsWork as a Production technician when neededMentor and coach new and existing team members, while fostering harmonious communications with internal and external customersAssist Production Planning Manager when planning workforce, training, development, and schedulingSet up and monitor highly automated equipment for various processes (harvest, conditioning, treating, and packaging) Lead safety programs, trainings, and monitor product quality, to ensure activities meet the requirements of Quality Plans and complianceEnsure operator preventative maintenance tasks are completed timelyComplete and maintain records, documents, reports, and other data as requiredEnsure cleanliness in the workplace, and operator maintenance tasks are completed in a timely mannerManage inventory and assist with product movement activities in a timely manner to ensure a high standard of seed qualityVarious other duties as assigned

Education:

You have your High School Diploma or equivalent

What Skills You Need:

You have three (3) years of education and/or experience in operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry You are willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb and/or work in elevated areas, Stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting You are comfortable with technology and possess good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required  You have high attention to detail can multitask, maintain an organized workplace and excellent problem-solving skillsYou have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers You have a valid US Driver’s License You demonstrate integrity and promote a positive working environment by being a self-starter and willing to assist team members on a consist basis.  You uphold health and safety to the highest standard! You consistently help others and demonstrate adherence to safety protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure you and your colleagues go home safely every dayYou understand that delivering to our customers on time keeps us viable and are willing and able to work a rotating shift and overtime hours, which can include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand

What Makes You Stand Out:

Two-Year Technical or Associates Degree in Agriculture, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field Knowledge or experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized WorkGeneral knowledge and/or experience with field and agriculture equipment (plows, tractor, feeder, etc.)
