**POSITION TITLE:**
Production Specialist – Fabrication and Tooling Support – Calibration
**NATURE AND SCOPE:**
For this role, The Production Specialist will support fabrication, tooling and calibration of tools. Regarding fabrication, the individual should have a knowledge of materials and their properties, such as strength, durability, weight and cost. This person must also posses the skills to operate saws, drills, lathes and welders. For tooling, the individual must be able to repair and perform maintenance and calibration for tools needed in a production environment. For both roles the individual must be creative and able to design products for production and can innovate and solve problems, as well as adapt and improvise to changing situations and constraints.
**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:**
Repair and perform maintenance on tools. Calibrate tools and maintain calibration documentation. Track data on tooling and fixtures. Assist in the assembly of new tools and fixtures in a production environment. Read and interpret drawings and schematics. Measure, cut, shape, join and finish materials accurately and safely. Troubleshoot products for functionality and quality. Assist other departments regarding pricing, maintenance and troubleshooting of tools and materials. Support and document 5S housekeeping activities and keep all areas clean and orderly Other tasks as assigned by management
**KNOWLEDGE:**
+ Must possess team leadership skills
+ Must possess willingness and ability to both perform and assign tasks to others.
+ Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
+ Must be able to interface with the Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Facilities Maintenance, Information Technology (IT), and Quality departments to resolve issues encountered
+ Must have proficient computer skills
+ Must be able to read drawings and schematics.
+ Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, pdf documents.
+ Knowledge of CAD systems is a plus
+ High School Diploma or equivalent is highly preferred.
+ 2-3 years’ experience reading and working with drawings and schematics

+ The location for this position is Alpharetta, GA

+ This position may require 10% travel

**Summary Pay Range:**
$21.65 - $28.10
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
