Production Superintendent- Greenside

Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking excellent candidates for a qualified Production Superintendent - Greenside for the Dodson, LA Dimensional Lumber Mill located in North Central Louisiana. Sawmilling in Dodson has a rich history where it was home to the largest sawmill in the United States in 1900. It is located close to Ruston, LA, home of Louisiana Tech University and Grambling State University. North Central Louisiana has great communities, outdoor scenic attractions, thriving arts, recreation and shopping.

This Superintendent is a key member of the Dodson leadership team and is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the daily activities in the sawmill and log yard departments. Primary responsibilities include:

Role models safety and ensures a safe workplace for employees and contractors in a 24/7 production environment.Leads reliability to ensure sawmill team and equipment operate effectively and efficiently.Interfacing with the logging group and finishing department.Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, planning, scheduling and general supervision of work, evaluating job performance, and providing regular feedback and coaching for salaried shift supervisors, as well as hourly production associates. Coordinates with site Safety Manager to ensure departmental safety processes and education. Role Model our safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of integrity, fairness, creating a positive work environment, and ensuring open communication among associates. Accountable for managing projects and solving problems of the highest complexity (e.g. capital projects)Improves and maintains department performance according to set objectives and established goals for safety, quality, waste reduction, housekeeping and process reliability. Responsible for budgeting, cost benchmarking and control, planning and scheduling and other high level managerial tasks.Provides leadership for process improvement, regular team meetings and safety. Responsible for accurate and timely production reporting.

BS or BA or advanced degree in wood products related field or equivalent in related experience.Strong team leadership skills; effective planning, organizational and problem-solving skills; proven supervisory/management skills.Demonstrated ability in leading a team to generate commitment and motivate employees toward a common goal.Good understanding of business, financial and labor relations concepts.Demonstrated safety leadership within a manufacturing environment.Minimum 3-5 years leadership experience in lumber or wood products manufacturing required.Knowledge of lumber grading procedures.Good communication and facilitation skills as well as ability to deliver presentations to various groups of all levels of company leadership.Ability to plan, organize, work assignments and analyze results.Willing and able to work all shifts, including weekends.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $95,000 – $142,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
