Production Supervisor, Machining (2nd Shift)

Emerson, known for its groundbreaking work in custom control valves, is extending an invitation for you to take charge as our Production Supervisor in Marshalltown, Iowa! You will be accountable for managing the day-to-day operations to increase production while improving our safe workplace, reducing costs, improving quality, and meeting customer requirements!

This is a 2nd Shift position (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM)

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Maintain a strong safety culture and a safe work environment. Responsible for completing safety audits, daily safety start-ups, inspections, and generating ideas to improve safety. Plan and direct daily work activities to dynamically lead production resources to acquire daily production goals. Develop and implement process improvements to reduce non-conformances, improve cost, and reduce manufacturing process time. Complete individual and operation-based quality audits to verify compliance to quality standards. Develop cross training plans to improve production performance and increase manufacturing flexibility. Improve employee performance through formal and informal performance reviews, job training, and the sharing of ideas to improving production performance. Participate in the development of capital plans and support the implementation of new technology to improve manufacturing processes and reduce non-conformances. Support the development and implementation of industry standard methodologies in areas such as 5S+1, TPM, Kaizen events, and implement cost reductions for production improvement. Maintain Production records, such as, hours worked, overtime hours, cross-training, efficiency, quality, etc. Consistently coordinate the labor agreement and lead efforts to improve performance. Who You Are:

You balance planning with actions. You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You define issues and can map out a process. You drill down to root causes to gather relevant information.

For This Role, You Will Need:

High School Diploma with 3 years in a leadership role or bachelor’s degree with 2-year supervisory experience. Strong leadership skills; including being disciplined, outspoken, and having a high energy level to meet safety and production performance goals. Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

A technology-based bachelor’s degree, with 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong machining experience, including both CNC and manual machines. Ability to teach machining skills and consistent record of driving process improvement. Strong leadership skills: including being focused, outspoken and having a high energy level to meet safety and production performance goals.
