Job Description

  

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor oversees the operations of multiple production lines that are responsible for the assembly and testing of Infrared lens assemblies. Manages the activities of production personnel including workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Direct the overall activities of two to three continuous production jobs to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled, and produced at the lowest possible cost to meet the customer’s requirements while maintaining established safety and quality standards.Provide management of employees to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action and performance management.Supervise 10-15 direct employees in day-to-day operations as well as setting objectives and performing annual reviews.Develop Technicians and Assemblers through coaching, setting objectives and providing appropriate feedback.Responsible for all labor reporting through timecard approval each week and any labor tracking required against production orders by employee.Create and manage Work Orders in SAP to support product demand.Track and Report progress of Work Orders in weekly meetings.Track Work Order shortages. Work with Receiving and Quality to expedite the movement of shortages to the production floor.Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to resolve production issues.Partner with Engineering and Quality to ensure that Standard Operating Procedures and ISO procedures are developed, maintained, and followed for all aspects of the manufacturing operation.Implement and drive continuous improvement activities.

Job Qualifications:

5-10 years manufacturing experience (optics industry strongly desired).Familiarity with opto-mechanical assembly and interferometric optical testing desired.Excellent verbal/written communication skills.Ability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees.Ability to handle critical timelines.Familiar with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent time management skills.Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a positive attitude and outlook.Participate and work in an ITAR compliant environment.English Language fluency required.
