Production Supervisor, Plating Department, 1st Shift

The Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Plating department work area, including the use of equipment and safety. In partnership with other company Supervisors, this position will develop and execute department goals and objectives as they relate to safety, production, quality, shipping and receiving within the Finishing Process. Supervises all functions of the work area including safety and training.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Manages hourly workforce in designated department and workflow of production linesSchedules production lines, maintains and improves productivityMaintains accurate computerized inventory control and cycle countsDevelops and maintains performance measurements and work schedulesProvides training to direct reports in the areas of production, material handling, equipment, safety and hazardous materialsSorts and disposes of non-conforming materials in accordance with established proceduresMaintains the production area in good housekeeping order according to OSHA guidelinesAdheres to and promotes all company safety rules and requirementsOverseas the maintenance of chemical process tanks to obtain high quality results.Overseas the finishing process, which includes electro plating, antique finishes and coating processPerforms other duties as required.
 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises hourly workforce within the finishing department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring for the position(s).Coach, mentor, and develop hourly workforceProvide mentoring and training for production, finishing, safety, quality, inventory control etc.
 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Educations and/or Experience

HS Diploma or equivalent is required.1-2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.1-2 years experience in electro and oxide plating.1-2 years experience in coating process.
 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Ability to plan, organize and direct production workflow in finishing processAbility to communicate effectivelyWritten and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead a teamAbility to execute math equationsProven experience in the finishing process (antique finishes, electro plating, coating)Exposure to interacting with state and federal regulatory agencies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds. Have ability to complete frequent lifting, standing and walking up to 8 hours. May frequently use ladders, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment or enclosed office space; and will be exposed to a warehouse environment on a frequent basis. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
