Primary Responsibilities
This role has responsibility to achieve productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, safety and employee engagement objectives through both individual and team contributions. Provides direction, leadership, development and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Develops, implements and promotes safety programs and safe work practices through involvement in plant safety teams, programs and initiatives. Promotes sound employee & labor relations within the department by developing and maintaining an effective organization with qualified personnel. Develops, promotes, and supports continuous improvement and other cross-functional initiatives.
Supervises employees on an assigned shift to ensure manufacture of products, parts, components, or assemblies, or to perform service functions within established timing, quality, and cost standards.
– Has greater emphasis than Unit Supervisors I and II on skilled operations, such as machining, continuous process operations, assembly, and testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.
– Supervises production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements, including product integrity and production order documentation.
– Directs all related personnel actions, including final selection, training, performance appraisal, discipline, safety, and grievance procedures in unionized environments.
– Determines manufacturing priorities based on established weekly production schedules and makes daily
assignments.
– Interprets specifications and makes judgments about the acceptability of production that is in process.
– Implements departmental safety programs to ensure safety of employees working in the area.
– Assures product quality.
– Assists operators in problem solving and exercises considerable judgment.
– Directs routine equipment maintenance and set-up.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in supervisor role
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
The ability to lead, motivate and mentor large teams of hourly associates is required
Strong communication and leadership skills
Strong analytical/critical thinking
Strong accountability, consistency and follow-through skills
Ability to work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior management

New Hire Base Salary Range:
$77,800.00 – $97,300.00
Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
