This position will directly supervise the production department employees who manufacture subassemblies and complete units using hand tools, light power tools, and automated equipment.

Train, develop and measure the output of production employeesMaximize efficiency of production employees while maintaining exceptional quality and meeting required production schedulesContinuously maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environmentProvide leadership in preventing accidents by emphasizing the importance of safety and good work practicesEnsure that production assembly schedules are efficiently communicated, measured and adhered to throughout the shiftInitiate actions to improve production processes and methodsMaximize workforce flexibility by cross-training personnel as needed to assure availability of resources to complete work schedules efficiently and to develop them personnel on the teamEncourage input from supervised personnel to lower costs, improve quality, simplify work, and reduce scrap and reworkSupervise employees who setup and/or operate assembly and packaging machinesResponsible for adequate departmental staffing and disciplinary measures of employees under supervision

Technical Skill Requirements:

Ability to work independently and with others to initiate activities and resolve conflictsMust possess excellent communication skillsAbility to interview potential new production employeesAbility to interface with various levels of management and production personnelKnowledge of “lean” production techniques and team buildingWorking knowledge of computer programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel, etc.)Ability to multi-task and adapt to a constantly changing environmentBilingual with at minimum English fluency and Spanish proficiency

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree or two-year technical degree or equivalent related experience
