Overview of the Role
This position is responsible for the supervision of plant operations in the production area and personnel, as well supporting and leading other departments and Plant employees in order to produce quality dairy (cheese) products in an efficient, safe and cost-effective manner.
Schedule: Production Supervisor’s shift schedule will be required to be flexible to meet the business requirements.
Salary: $78,170.00 - $97,715.00

Provides clear direction, coaching, training and support to production personnel to ensure high performance and engagement.Optimize the use of manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production goals safely and effectively.Administers the Collective Bargaining Agreement and maintains strong internal and external working relationships.Coordinate equipment and staffing to meet production timelines and customer demands.Effectively uses daily production information to track costs, measure trends, and communicate results, positively re-enforce success, and initiate corrective actions.Fosters a safe working environment in the plant to promote a good safety culture; takes proactive and corrective actions to protect the health and safety of employees.Collaboratively leads the team to ensure the practices meet the food safety requirements per HACCP protocols to uphold sanitation and product quality in line with company and regulatory requirements.Ensures GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs are followed by all production personnel's.Troubleshoots and coordinates activities to resolve operational and mechanical issues to minimize downtimes.Leads and participates in initiatives that enhance system, processes, and team performance.Administers environmental policies and ensures regulations are followed.Other duties as required.You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in Dairy or Food manufacturing environment. Unionized manufacturing environment experience as an asset.Post-secondary education in Food Sciences, Dairy Technology, Engineering, or other related education would be an asset.Thorough knowledge of dairy operations with particular emphasis on processing and sanitation.Proficient with standard office computer technology, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.), ERP system experience preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess a high degree of initiative, work well under pressure.Proficiency and dependability in current position; andMust be available to work shift work, holidays, and weekends; be on call as needed.This year, Saputo is celebrating 70 years of passion and craftsmanship!
