This site at Hawes remains the bastion of a 1,000-year long cheese making heritage of making wensleydale cheese, with this production supervisor role leading a team of 15 passionate and driven direct reports within the relevant production area, ensuring a safe working environment for us to drive towards achieving production plans.
Delivering a right first-time approach, you’ll be key in ensuring we are operating efficiently, with a review of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place to ensure they remain fit for purpose and reflect best practice, and delivering training to the relevant teams as we focus on ensuring colleagues are multi-skilled across different work stations.
You will be hands-on on the shop floor, communicating and leading production performance, and developing an understanding of all relevant legal requirements with H&S, hygiene, labelling, employment law, and other aspects – and sharing responsibility in these areas.
