Job Description

The SMT Production Supervisor, is responsible to comprehensively plan and manage the execution of daily production and new product development activities within the Electronics Value Stream. This position manages technicians building Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, and oversees these roles in the logistics, coordination and execution of all tasks associated with product manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Develop and communicate the production schedule through visual boards, illustrating the status of the production activities for current programs.Proactively identify and communicate schedule risks to Production and Program Management teams.Track team productivity against planned work, maintaining individual accountability and resolving technician roadblocks.Provide real-time leadership and coaching to direct reports.Maintain team development and training plans.Ensure team objectives are met and visible using performance metrics.Maintain and present performance metrics to management on the Gemba walk.Evaluate production activities for continuous improvement opportunities.Work cross functionally with engineering groups to implement improvements for existing products and develop processes for new products. Investigate nonconformance issues and implement improvements to mitigate future incidents.   Drive the execution of corrective actions and identification of systemic issues.Identifies opportunities to expedite work through the floor while maintaining process adherence.

Requirements:

Experience with Electronics Manufacturing, SMT (Strongly Preferred)BS Degree in Operations Management, an Engineering Discipline, Business Administration OR 5-10 years of relevant experience.Strong planning skills, with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.Strong technical aptitude to understand fundamental manufacturing processes.Working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, proficient in MS Office Suite: Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.Ability to motivate people, particularly in a production workforce environmentLEAN Manufacturing  experience and continuous improvement mindset valued
