The Production Supervisor role is based at the Bristol sand and gravel plant located in Ennis, TX and reports directly to the Assistant Plant Manager.
Job Overview: The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring effective operations and maintenance of the plant during their respective shift. This role also oversees efficient management of the pit operation, including finished production, proactive and reactive maintenance, and decisions to maximize productivity across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:Plan and schedule plant production to maximize productivity and optimize the use of manpower, resources, and equipment.Supervise and direct production crews, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and setting daily, weekly, and annual performance objectives.Review and approve employee Kronos timecards and manage staff vacation approvals.Report daily production metrics and track key performance indicators (KPIs) of plant performance.Ensure material production meets quality control standards.Assist in accessing and optimizing the use of existing reserves.Schedule and oversee plant and mobile repair and maintenance, both internally and with outside vendors.Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained for plant efficiency.Promote safe work habits and provide safe working conditions—lead daily tailgate meetings, ensure job tasks are completed as per procedures, and demonstrate leadership towards all company safety policies.Essential Experience and Skills:At least 5 years of work experience in aggregate production or a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a related industry.Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and respectfully.Composure and the ability to professionally present information and respond to questions.Ability to adapt to the work environment, manage fluctuating shift schedules, and handle physically demanding tasks.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.Experience with Kronos payroll system.Preferred Experience and Skills:Working knowledge of aggregate production equipment and processes.Strong analytical abilities and comfort with using data for decision-making.Project team experience.Experience in union and non-union environments.Ambition and capability to progress to a plant manager role in the future.Work Environment: The role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
