Job Title: Production Supervisor

Reports to: Value Stream Leader
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Production Supervisor directly supervises up to 25+ employees. Manages multiple complex priorities while leading a team. Assists with the execution of production plans while ensuring the safety of all employees and collaborates on the development of standard work procedures to ensure quality products prior to validation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manufacturing Processes
Direct supervision of shop employees executing assembly processes. Assist with support and direction to the production floor Understand Union contract within acceptable guidelines and past practices Assist with the coaching and development of resources to meet business objectivesProduction Planning and Supervision
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and shop orders to workers, and assigns duties Create daily schedules to align available resources with the production plan Assist with adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product Participate in changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems Assist with Coordinating resource needs with the production team Develop relationships with all internal and external resource groups to resolve delays during production Establish routines and meet performance expectations concerning coaching and discipline, employee reviews, timekeeping records, enterprise resource planning system (ERP), and employee records.Safety Management
Promote safety awareness and assist with safety training Interpretation of company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations Ensure job and safety briefings are conductedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 2+ years in a manufacturing role. 1+ years’ experience in the development and implementation of standard work procedures. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A working knowledge of railroads, transportation, heavy construction, or combination. Knowledge of or ability to quickly become familiar with Railroad products and services, particularly pertaining to the maintenance of track and structures. Knowledge of computers and software with good word processing skills using Microsoft applications. Good personal presentation skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate Degree in Electrical, Fluid Power, or technical certification in a skilled trade.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Leadership training and certificationsLicenses/Certifications: Maintain railroad safety training and certifications. Green Belt and lead on Kaizen events or continuous improvement project
