Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor will be the primary person on shift for the coordination of activities and workers engaged in the manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to safety procedures, production schedules, and quality standards.  This role reports to the production manager and is accountable for the safety of all associated employees, as well as managing the production and quality of the manufacturing product.  Key functions include:

 

The safety of all employees on their shift, ensuring that employees understand and work according to Plant Safety Rules.Provides shift leadership and supervision to the individual shifts to support Injection Molding processes to meet production goals.Ensures that all key productivity, scrap, and downtime metrics are achieved to plan.Provides site leadership in the absence of production management.Provides key problem solving and resolution actions.Adheres to and maintains good manufacturing practices coupled with quality plan expectations.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Accountable for the safety of all employees through engagement in safety activities, and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.Motivates and coaches’ employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.Ensures production operations are adhering to production plans & schedules.Coordinate production activities to ensure productions goals are achieved.Lead and manage all associated personnel to maximize performance.Ensure that all processes and procedures are followed and maintained to ensure production of high-quality products.Ensure coordination with QA personnel for process startup, product validation, and in process sampling.  Work closely with the quality inspectors and supervisor to identify and minimize quality defects and complaints.Conduct personnel performance management activities including job definition, performance plans and reviews, training plans, and performance coaching.Lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner by:Provide and manage attendance records.Enforce personnel policies and procedures.Maintain safe working conditions with a goal of zero accidents and zero lost time incidentsCoordinate with other departments to ensure production goals are achieved.Continually improve operations, processes and capabilities. Qualifications

Education:

 

Prefer a Business, Operations Management, or Engineering degree, however will consider relevant experience.

 

Technical Skills:

 

Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and subordinates

Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment

Flexibility to work some overtime, as necessary

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and computer operations.

 

Experience:

 

3-5 years production supervision experience in a high volume-manufacturing environment.
