Job Description
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, The successful candidate will be responsible for Supervising and running the Production line. This includes supervising Production Operators operating machinery, ensuring that raw materials are fed properly through the manufacturing process, resolving line stoppages, clearing equipment jams, verifying finished products against quality specifications, and ensuring that products are properly prepared for shipment
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recognize IKO values and exemplify them in your daily workLead a positive change effort to improved performance by motivating, recognizing and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activitiesResolve any conflict immediately and assure that behavior is in line with IKO values, ask for help if needed.Increase employee engagement and improve the labor relations climate through participation in continuous improvement (get suggestions, report problems, participate in team problem solving sessions)Evaluate employee performance monthly with coaching and support to achieve results.Champion hazard identification, evaluation and control through the behavior based safety and risk assessment programsLead daily safety share, encourage and recognize all safety behaviorJob training with STD work description, SOP and WISafety training, STOP, FLRA and all others safety programsEnsure proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc)Continually improve the operational efficiency of the plant by submitting ideas and solutionsEnsure a rigorous follow-up of all 5SReport to the people concerned (manager, superintendent colleague, etc.) any production or safety situations or concernMaintain constructive and respectful relationships with all staff by communicating effectively with all departmentsFor all breakdown or needed a plan repaired, make efficiently a service request to maintenance dept. as soon as possibleRequirements:
Post-secondary degree/diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or managementMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory roleStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environmentStrong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employeesExcellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and analytical skillsProven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talentExcellent time management, planning, and organizational skillsProficient in MS OfficeKnowledge of Workday is an assetHours and Expectations:
Full time position, 12 hours shifts working on modified Dupont scheduleOpen availability, ability to work shift, weekend and overtime work requiredSubject to 24 hour on call dutiesEnvironment:
