Job Description
Teledyne Controls specializes in providing cutting-edge onboard avionics systems and ground-based applications to facilitate efficient data access, management, and utilization for both civil and military aircraft operators.
We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our manufacturing operations. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing production processes to ensure efficiency and quality output. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supervising production lines, implementing production schedules, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
You will supervise a team of Electro-Mechanical Assemblers and Test Technicians, providing work direction under the guidance of a Manager/Director. You will be responsible for assigning work, reviewing performance, and providing feedback to your team and manager.
The focus of this position is to effectively lead a team of Technicians and Assemblers, ensuring strong leadership, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will also coordinate with other departments, outside organizations, customers, and suppliers to ensure workflow continuity and process improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Engagement: Supervise, train, and coach the production team regarding attendance and productivity performance, ensuring successful production operations. Engage the work team to foster a collaborative and motivated environment.
Safety: Implement and maintain safety guidelines to create a secure working environment. Perform consistent production area audits and conduct regular shift meetings to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Quality: Plan, organize, and coordinate production activities to meet quality and quantity targets. Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Continuous Improvement: Reinforce structure for the team by helping to identify and establish new SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and key metrics to evaluate team performance. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements.
Production Schedules: Coordinate required staff and schedules for production activities, accounting for callouts, emergencies, etc., as they arise. Ensure adherence to production schedules and timely completion of tasks.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other organizations, including engineering, planning, quality, and facilities, to ensure workflow continuity and process improvements.
Training and Development: Oversee the training and development of production staff to enhance skills and performance.
Resource Management: Manage production budgets and expenses to optimize resource utilization. Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance and metrology teams to ensure equipment is operational and well-maintained.
Performance Evaluation: Evaluate production output against set goals and implement corrective measures when necessary.
Qualifications:
5+ years of related Manufactuing and Production experience and/or training.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Prior supervisory experience is essential, as this role includes supervisory responsibilities with direct reports.
Proficiency in managing production processes in a manufacturing facility.
Knowledge of assembly line operations and workflow optimization.
Ability to lead a team effectively and foster a collaborative work environment.
Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Windows Office Suite and email communication.
Must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).
Preferred Qualifications:
Lean / Six Sigma certification.
5S implementations.
Leading Gemba and Kaizen events.
