This is a 3rd Shift position, and the hours are 10pm-6am.

How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Production Supervisor position in the Composite Structures Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be responsible for safety, product quality, exercising cost control, producing parts and assemblies to schedule, motivating shop employees to attain quantity and quality standards and administering company & division policies.

Additionally, you will…

Monitor employees performance to ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed and adhered.Implement and assign work schedules to maximize the utilization of manpower, machines, and equipmentDefines expected production standards, and monitors performance standards of the assigned personnelObserves personnel to ensure the proper operation of assigned work and equipmentEnsures inspection checks and quality assurance occurs to produce high quality productsPromote a continuous productivity improvement climate that encourages suggestions for operational improvementAdministers and supports company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent mannerImplement LEAN practices and strive for continuous improvement of departmentTrains new employees about divisional and organizational activities and safety policies and procedures

What it takes

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalentFive years of experience in manufacturing or logistics/distribution environmentA strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft OutlookStrong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectivesExcellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsThe ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsThe ability to recognize and solve practical problems and/or issuesThe ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive mannerThe ability to effectively interpret and present information both one-on-one and in front of an audienceThe ability to calculate figures such as pay changes for employees, proportions and percentages, and product dimensionsThe ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

Associates Degree or higher preferredThree years of experience in a supervisory positionPrevious supervisory experience in a manufacturing or logistic operations environmentPractical hands on experience in Lean ManufacturingMust be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
