Our optical lab is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for our growing manufacturing operation.

Job Description

General Summary:  Responsible for supervising the daily functions of the assigned department including meeting production goals, hiring and developing staff, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for associates.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises production in the DepartmentTracks hourly production numbers at work stationsReviews and processes daily reportsUses late lists to track old jobs, prioritizes hot jobs and ensures older jobs and hot jobs are processed timely and expedited through the labReduces breakage by reviewing, implementing plans and resolving issues so to avoid reoccurrences and keep breakage lowReviews rejects, final inspection kick-outs and identifies fixable trends to implement solutionsSends "reworks" to appropriate person and uses as a training tool to avoid reoccurrencesWorks with other department supervisors to resolve interdepartmental issuesCommunicates with maintenance department to ensure all equipment is functioning properlyManages consumables, supply needs and CPL budgetsInterviews and selects associates for the DepartmentOversees training and cross training of associatesReviews associate performance and recommends actionsPerforms various administrative functions including maintaining performance and attendance records of associates, scheduling work and pto time, preparing and implementing departmental proceduresEnforces all Company Policies and Procedures

QualificationsNo specific education level requiredMust be able to read and write EnglishPrior supervisory experience requiredPrior experience with key production and performance metrics, root cause analysis and data review to guide operational efficiencyOptical industry knowledge necessary, within context of mass manufacturing production desiredBeginner to intermediate knowledge of MS Office including word and excel
