Where You Will Work   

Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.   

Description Under general supervision, performs routine SX/EW and Leach testing functions.  Duties include but are not limited to data collection, sample collection and preparation; mine site support and assist in the development and optimization of site processes. Collect data and samples, which may include traveling to mine sitesPrepare samples for analysis and run tests using appropriate established techniques and methodsSet up and maintain laboratory/field instrumentation and equipment; diagnose problems, calibrate and retest as appropriate; ensure lab has appropriate supplies for operation Responsible for performing and Leading inspections and audits, including but not limited to: work place inspections, safety related inspections, ISO audits and complete documentation as requiredOperate mobile equipment, including but not limited to: forklifts, overhead crane, loaders, skid steersProvide input and recommendations to Project Managers and/or Supervisors regarding testingTrain and mentor other employeesEnter data into spreadsheets/databases and report out results to sitesMay lead site audits and other site support projects as requiredMay be involved in project planning and execution of project(s)May compile, assign, track, ship and receive materialsFollow and understand MSHA and OSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work area instructionsParticipate in safety and environmental activitiesUse plant and laboratory equipment correctly at all timesPerform housekeeping and other duties as requiredQualifications

Minimum Qualifications

 

Three (3) years of direct lab experience, ORRelated Associate's degree, which includes two (2) years of related lab experienceAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingExpert knowledge of lab equipment, lab protocols and techniques appropriate to assigned areasAbility to train others in particular are of lab/tasksDemonstrated ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions and to lead others with regard to proper safety application in all assignmentsAbility to follow detailed, technical instructionsExperience with mathematic and/or numbers-based tasksExperience with chemical sample preparation and/or analysisExperience with tedious or repetitive motions or tasksStrong organizational and documentation skillsAbility and willingness to travel to mine sites with occasional overnight stayExperience working in an ISO 9001/EMS 14001/OHSAS 18001 environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

High School diploma or GED

Proficiency using MS Excel to develop and maintain spreadsheets, reports and other documentation

SX/EW and Leaching experience

Mobile equipment experience, including overhead crane operationsExperience with mathematic and/or numbers-based tasksExperience with chemical sample preparation and/or analysisAbility to follow detailed, technical instructionsExperience with tedious/repetitive motions or tasksAbility to work alone and be self-motivatedStrong organizational and documentation skillsAbility and willingness to travel to mine sites with occasional overnight stay

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $26.00 - $36.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
