You Are:

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Support Engineer to oversee and manage critical data integration and real-time processing systems. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting data pipelines, ensuring seamless operations, and providing innovative solutions to complex issues.

 

The Opportunity:

·       Support and manage Informatica Power Exchange (PWX) and Informatica PowerCenter for data integration, ensuring accurate and efficient ETL processing for systems like Calaim, CA DHCS, and WA TAP/TPA/AHAH.

·       Oversee the execution of CDC (Change Data Capture) processes for AGP custom tables and Oracle tables, ensuring data synchronization and consistency across systems.

·       Manage and optimize ODW (Operational Data Warehouse) loads, ensuring high-performance data extraction, transformation, and loading operations.

·       Manage and troubleshoot the integration between Informatica and Kafka, ensuring seamless real-time data streaming and processing between systems.

·       Implement and support Kafka connectors for data ingestion and integration with downstream systems.

·       Work with various databases, including Postgres SQL and Oracle, ensuring efficient performance and optimal data access.

·       Perform SQL query optimization, including fine-tuning and troubleshooting complex queries to ensure high performance.

·       Create and maintain Python scripts for automating ETL tasks, managing data pipelines, and supporting system integrations.

·       Write scripts for custom data transformations, validations, and error handling processes.

·       Provide production support for all related systems and processes, ensuring minimal downtime and fast resolution of issues.

·       Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data being processed across the various platforms.

·       Provide on-call support for incidents and service disruptions, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact to business operations.

·       Participate in daily stand-ups and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and IT infrastructure teams.

·       Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding system status, incident reports, and any production issues.

·       Monitor system performance, including job statuses, ETL jobs, and data processing pipelines, using monitoring tools like Informatica PowerCenter and custom dashboards.

·       Conduct performance tuning of SQL queries, Informatica jobs, and Python scripts to ensure efficient and high-performing data loads.

·       Maintain detailed documentation for all processes, including ETL workflows, Informatica jobs, Python scripts, and system troubleshooting steps.

·       Ensure that all incidents and resolutions are documented and reported for future reference.

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What You Need:

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

·       4+ years of experience in production support with a focus on data integration, ETL processes, and real-time data management.

·       Hands-on experience with Informatica Power Exchange (PWX) and PowerCenter for designing, managing, and troubleshooting ETL workflows.

·       Proficiency in SQL, Postgres SQL, and Oracle databases, including query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

·       Experience in managing Informatica CDC (Change Data Capture) processes for synchronization of custom and relational database tables.

·       Expertise in real-time data integration using Kafka connectors with Informatica, ensuring seamless data streaming and ingestion.

·       Strong programming skills with Python, including creating scripts for data processing, automation, and system integrations.

·       Familiarity with JSON for managing data payloads and transforming unstructured data into usable formats.

·       Knowledge of SSIS for managing data integration processes and automation within Microsoft SQL environments.

·       Proven ability to monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines, ETL jobs, and database operations.

·       Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for resolving production issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring system reliability.

·       Experience with data quality checks and validation scripts to maintain the accuracy and integrity of data loads.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote

Compensation Range: $81,000-$123,000

 

 

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
