You Are:
The Production Support Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing backend systems that support key business operations, including Calaim and WA TAP/TPA/AHAH. This position focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of data processing pipelines and integrations in a fast-paced, production environment. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production incidents, streamline data operations, and implement enhancements. The role demands expertise in SQL, Informatica, Kafka, JSON, and Postgres SQL to deliver robust and efficient backend solutions.
The Opportunity:
· Provide backend development and support for critical applications such as Calaim and WA TAP/TPA/AHAH, ensuring efficient and reliable system functionality.
· Develop, monitor, and troubleshoot ETL pipelines using Informatica, ensuring accurate data processing and seamless integration across systems.
· Design and optimize SQL and Postgres SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and system performance.
· Manage and support Kafka for real-time data streaming and event-driven processing, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
· Create and process JSON data structures for seamless integration and communication between APIs and applications.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and implement backend solutions for production systems.
· Perform proactive performance tuning of backend systems and processes to minimize latency and maximize throughput.
· Provide incident support, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve production issues promptly to maintain service reliability.
· Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation for backend processes, including data flow diagrams, ETL mappings, and integration designs.
· Participate in deployments, post-production validations, and system upgrades to ensure seamless transitions and system continuity.
· Maintain strict adherence to data quality standards, executing validation scripts and ensuring data integrity across all systems.

What You Need:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
· 4+ years of experience in backend development and production support, with a focus on SQL-based databases and ETL processes.
· Proficient in SQL and Postgres SQL, with experience in writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and ensuring data integrity.
· Hands-on experience with Informatica for developing, managing, and troubleshooting ETL pipelines.
· Familiarity with Kafka for real-time data streaming and event-driven architecture.
· Experience working with JSON for API integrations and data exchange in diverse environments.
· Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, including root cause analysis and incident resolution.
· Strong understanding of backend architecture, data flow, and integration techniques.
· Familiar with production monitoring and ing tools to proactively manage system performance and reliability.
· Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
· Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation for backend processes and data integrations.
· Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities in high-pressure production environments.
· Ability to work in on-call rotations and address critical production issues outside standard working hours as required.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Remote
Compensation Range: $81,000-$123,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
