The role

As a Production Support Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join our team where you'll be responsible for tracking and transporting materials on and off nuclear submarines. This hands-on position requires attention to detail and efficiency, as you'll play a vital part in maintaining operational readiness and safety standards.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll Perform duties in a safety-critical environment, consistently upholding high safety standards and adhering to all operational protocols to support the secure and effective execution of tasks.

 

Track equipment movement on and off nuclear submarines. Transport materials safely, requiring a full clean driving licence. Ensure items are secured in transit and comply with the Highway Code. Load and unload vehicles manually and using forklift trucks. Maintain clear and obstruction-free docksides at all times.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

 

There is an opportunity for Optimised Working Patterns (OWP) within this role. OWP is a temporary variation to your standard terms and condition that commits you to support 7-day working arrangements. For full details of the patterns, pay and durations, this can be found in the OWP 1 and OWP 2 agreements (available from hiring manager).

 

Primarily, it involves 4-week shift cycles consisting of either day/back shift or day/night shift.

 

 

Essential experience of the Production Support Operative

Forklift truck operating experience desirable. Willingness to undertake development training as identified in a competency framework. Ability to work under pressure, alone or as part of a team. Demonstrates a basic knowledge of COSHH, Manual Handling and Risk Assessment Regulations.

 

Qualifications for the Production Support Operative

Full clean driving licence required, with previous experience driving vans is desirable. Counterbalance FLT Operator,

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
