About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:
Exciting opportunity with Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) as a Production Support Specialist supporting our Quality Department based in Seguin, Texas. In this role, your focus will be on elevating product quality, velocity, and cost-effectiveness through skilled data analysis, effective problem-solving, and meticulous work validation. As a key member of the team, you'll report to Quality Managers and collaborate across different departments to meet the demands of both customers and the company.
What you will do:
Inspect engine and engine components utilizing quality check sheets to ensure there are no quality defects
Verify correct alignment of engine components using engine schematics and part prints
Perform audits and carry out quality inspections to correct known defects
Ensure that materials received and delivered are free from quality defects
Submit and assist with the resolution of CPS Continuous Improvement cards
Assist other departments with problem solving or improvement ideas related to assembly
Follow standard operating procedures and area specific work instructions
Report daily information to supervisors and managers about engines in your span of control
Coordinate with support teams and value stream leadership prioritizing engine movement
Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within assigned area
All other duties as assigned
What you will have:
Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a manufacturing and or quality inspection work environment or relevant college course work
Attention to detail
Mechanical aptitude and ability to use assembly tools
Ability to work well with others
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
Intermediate experience with computers, tablets, and with Microsoft Office Applications
Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to adhere to safety procedures
What would make you a top candidate:
Intermediate knowledge of Plex
Completion of CAV/Manufacturing best practice training
Shop floor manufacturing execution system (MES) knowledge
Proficiency in Built-in-Quality (BIQ) Processes
Value stream flexibility
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Summary Pay Range:
$18.50 - $23.50Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
