Production Team Lead-2nd shift

Job Description

Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company product(s) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate team leaders.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Plans and implements staffing of assigned area to meet production requirements.Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.  Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity and product specifications, and operating or production problems.Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs set up and adjustments of machines.Is responsible for the coordination of training of new employees and how the workload is delegated throughout the area.Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.  Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.  Maintains time and production records.Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.Complies, stores, and retrieves production date and information as is required.  Prepares all necessary reports in a neat and accurate manner.Interprets and enforces all company policies to workers and enforces safety and housekeeping regulations.  Ensures compliance of company policy and maintains disciplinary corrective action.Promotes workplace safety by assuring universal precautions and safe work practices are used, assures fire/safety/disaster plans are established and communicated to all department personnel, participates in risk management assessments, maintains security and/or corrects unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.  Performs accident investigations as required and promotes the health and wellness efforts of the company.  Gives positive feedback to those excelling in the area of safety and participating in the many opportunities to get involved.Controls the inventory of supplies and raw materials, work in process, and scrap within the area of responsibility.Ensures there is no discrimination because of sex, age, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, or handicap.Approve daily hours of personnel.Other duties may be deemed necessary to maintain an efficient operation.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred with college and/or work experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

 

Previous leadership experience.
