Responsibilities Follow all Berry safety and environmental policies and proceduresFollow OSHA rules and regulationsMonitor quality of product; inspects boxes for damage and properly follows customer pack patternsCommunicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the Goals of the Department and the PlantAdhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing, long-sleeved shirt, jeans or slacks, hair net, latex gloves and practices good hygieneWilling and able to work overtime when neededIdentify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnelEffectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of othersFollow all Department Procedures and DirectivesMinimize scrap on each machine, verify correct color concentrationPrepare for and monitor product changeovers, verify line clearances.Pack buckets to support packers at breaks/lunchesPerform Daily and weekly preventive maintenance on assigned equipmentComplete machine production line reports and stability operations data collectionResponsible for identifying and reacting to various sounds and alarmsAssist Material Operator, Forklift Operator, Machine Operator and Inspector/Packers with responsibilities as neededProvide appropriate and timely feedback on performanceStaff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; andStaff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.Responsible for acting as Production Supervisor on occasion Qualifications High school diploma/GED or three years of experience with production equipment or six months as a Berry Machine OperatorThree years in a leadership role or one year as a Berry Machine Operator with shown leadership abilityMust have the ability to multi-taskMust be able to pass a background check and drug testMust be able to monitor quality of machine outputCapable of lifting (up to 35 pounds).Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarmsMust be able to follow all department procedures and directives.Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.Must have written and verbal communication skillsPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Manufacturing experienceExperience with Stretch/ Injection Blow Molding Equipment, especially Nissei, Aoki, Sidel and HuskyComputer skills in Word, Excel Power Point and JDEAdditional Info
D1 shift: 6:45am - 7pm working a 2-2-3 schedule with every other weekend off
