As the Production Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation of printing plates through all phases of the production process and for efficiently producing high-quality printing plates. Responsibilities for your role will also include performing quality assurance checks during the plate creation phase and managing the upkeep of the plate production equipment to avert contamination of the polymer and mitigate remakes.
The starting rate for this position is $18.00 an hour. How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:
Perform quality assurance checks on film, polymer and plate surface to ensure minimal defects when printing images for customer products. Monitor and record plate caliber per pour to assess operating efficiency and enable efficient printing plate productions. Maintain plate production equipment and tools (e.g. Kongsberg table) to minimize equipment downtime and maximize plate quality. Operate with precision in pouring of polymer and cutting of finished pours and carrier materials to enable high quality output of printing plates. Perform inspection on the final printing plate output to approve for the mounting phase of production. Perform preventative maintenance (i.e. cleaning, change film rolls) on printing equipment to maintain machine efficiency.

High School diploma or G.E.D 2 years of work experience in a high workflow production environment Meticulous attention to details, extremely thorough and adept at detecting errors Highly efficient in time management to effectively manage multiple priorities Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and maintain high performance; flexible Safety mindset
