Production Technician

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Complete a variety of hands-on production tasks (e.g., powder processing, machine operations, machine maintenance, , de-powdering, thermal processing, grit blasting, inspection, product assembly, shipping) Follow/update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and other documentation Equipment maintenance Interface with Engineers and with employees from other departments within the Company Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment Continuously focus on driving initiatives to eliminate waste Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions Follow all applicable Quality systems and initiatives Perform all other duties, as assigned

Education & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required 2-year technical degree desirable    5 to 7 years applicable experience Experience with kilns and furnaces highly desirable Experience with additive manufacturing is highly desirable Experience with precision measurement methods and systems is desirable Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/blueprints and process procedures is required Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement Experience with networked PC based computer system (spreadsheets, Email, MRP systems)

Good manual dexterity Hands-on individual with keen interest in position with varied tasks Goal oriented with a proven record of getting work done on time High mechanical and mathematical aptitude Experience with use of various measuring tools Experience with process improvement initiatives Clean and organized; high attention to detail Able to get along well with others Able to work overtime Ability to work in a cross-cultural, team based environment Good interpersonal and communication skills

Working Conditions

On site, manufacturing environment 

Physical Requirements

Able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 25 pounds, or lighter, repeatedly Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility Walking/standing a minimum of eight (8) hours per day

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
