Responsibilities For more than 100 years, our passionate mission of safety empowers us to protect lives. Globe invented Fire Fighter Protective Clothing / Turn Out Gear / Fire Suits over 137 years ago and we are proud to protect those on the front line today! We are looking to hire Production Workers for our Pittsfield, New Hampshire manufacturing plant to perform sewing and non-sewing operations as we convert specialty cut fabric into high quality turnout gear. In this role you will learn stitching operations and may also learn jobs in other areas as well. Now Hiring for 1st Shift - Candidates will start via our preferred staffing agency for a long term temporary positions with possibility to convert based upon performance. Candidates selected will start late September 2024. Starting Pay $18.00/hour Additional compensation may be available based upon experience. Schedule: 6:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 6:00 am to 2:30 pm on Fridays with 30 minute unpaid lunch and two breaks Overtime may be required Willing to train candidates of all levels including entry level with no experience - however goal is that all candidates will learn to stitch. Stitching (Sewing Operators) Utilize a variety of industrial single needle, double needle and programmable machines to stitch one of over 100 operations needed to complete the turnout gear shell or liner. Every operator is responsible for the quality of their work and is expected to support their departmental team by learning at least two additional operations. Machine Operator roles (Snapping, Seam Seal, Automated Stitching, Trim) Ability to use and understand a ruler and measurements. Qualifications Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: Able to read, write and speak basic English. Have basic knowledge of computers or tablets. Able to assist in team lifting of approximately 30 pounds. Strong organization skills and high attention to detail. Education (Required): High School Diploma or GED. Additional Requirements: Background check, drug screen and pre-employment physicals is required. Sewing Operators must be able to sit/stand, reach, bend, push and pull for full shift. Non-Sewing Operators must be able to stand/walk, reach, bend, push, pull for full shift. Previous experience in Sewing, Manufacturing, Machine Operation, Assembly, Quality Control and Inspection desirable. #LI-MI1 #LI-ONSITE
