Job Description

Join our team as a Production Worker in the toasting room, where you'll play a crucial role in creating wine barrels from white oak wood. This position involves working alongside a team to toast barrels on the inside, using a prepped fire to soften the wood, and utilizing machinery to shape the barrels.

ResponsibilitiesFollow all applicable safety rules and procedures.Receive incoming finished barrels and place them into inventory.Organize and maintain the warehouse for effective and efficient use of storage space.Ensure all products can be quickly retrieved for shipment.Pull ordered materials from inventory and stage them for pickups and deliveries.Maintain all products in a quality and marketable condition.Keep accurate inventory records.Physically sort through various products to remove defective material.Essential SkillsAbility to be trained and licensed/certified to operate forklift equipment after proving reliability in the production area.Ability to stand, climb, reach, bend, and twist throughout complete shifts.Previous warehouse experience is preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with general labor and production tasks.Comfortable with heavy lifting and using small hand tools and power tools.Experience in the wine industry or light industrial environments is advantageous.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The toasting room can get quite hot, especially in the summer, but cools down in the winter. It is an open warehouse environment with multiple fires to soften the wood. The production team consists of about 14 people, fostering a close-knit and interactive atmosphere. The environment can be loud. You will work Monday to Friday, from 5am to 1:30pm. Breaks are scheduled to ensure ample rest, and tasks may vary daily, requiring mobility to stretch, bend, squat, and lift. Barrels, weighing 110 lbs, will be rolled from station to station, not lifted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Napa, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
