Gundersen Health System is seeking a RN, Professional Development Nurse (Nurse Educator) supporting the Winona and La Crosse outpatient surgery centers (OSC). This is your opportunity to work in a highly adaptable and mission driven organization while doing the work you love in the beautiful Coulee region.  

What you will do:

1.0 FTE, salaried roleLead nursing orientation, education, competency, and professional development RNs, CSTs, and Perioperative Techs who work in the outpatient surgery environment. Evaluate nursing practice, assess practice gaps, identify learning needs, participate in process improvement projects and initiatives both within area of responsibility and at the system levelPrepare frontline staff with the knowledge and skills to provide high quality care and outstanding care experience in a supportive, professionally satisfying environment Work closely with amazing teams:OSC Leadership Teams (Directors, Managers, and Quality Improvement staff). Surgery & Procedures Nursing Practice Subgroup (3 other Professional Development Nurses and an Informatics Nurse)

What you need:Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing requiredMaster’s degree in Nursing required within 5 yearsMinimum 3-year's of RN experience in perioperative service area (will also take into consideration experience in a non-RN perioperative role). RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin and Minnesota upon hire
