Job Purpose/Overview:

As Antech’s National Account Professional Services Veterinarian, you will provide expert veterinary support and guidance to our National Account customers and colleagues, serving as a trusted resource for both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a strong background in veterinary medicine, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to advancing animal health.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop partnerships with medical leaders at corporate veterinary groups, including Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and Regional Medical Directors (RMDs)

Lead the development of medical education plans for National Accounts customers to ensure their network of hospitals is well educated across the portfolio of offerings from Antech.

Collaborate with National Accounts Team colleagues to identify and prioritize strategic imperatives within National Account customers to create mutual growth

Partner with field-based colleagues (Diagnostic Sales Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Regional PSVs, etc.) to facilitate pull through of agreed upon strategies and tactics to enhance field execution and align on demand creation activities

Create strong, collaborative relationships across all other Antech teams (Marketing, Sales, Medical, R&D, etc.)

Focus on strategic planning in the following areas:

Expansion of Care through Innovation: integrate new technology (e.g., telemedicine, machine learning, diagnostics) into hospitals

Operational Efficiency: streamline diagnostics and their interpretation to optimize care with current staffing levels

Support Diagnostic Quality at an Enterprise Level: help CMOs and RMDs monitor and improve diagnostic quality and procedures across hospitals

Financial Growth: Enable hospital groups to grow financially through top-notch care

Essential Duties:              

Colleague must quickly become highly knowledgeable in veterinary diagnostics; colleague will be supported with further technical expertise from Medical Consulting, Clinical Pathology, Quality Assurance, Clinical Education, R&D, and more

Colleague must be skilled in adult education. The learners will include CMOs, Medical Directors, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and Antech sales professionals

Colleague must be able to elevate medical knowledge through formal and informal training opportunities

Colleague must have a sales aptitude, with a desire to acquire new business and increase utilization in the existing customers

Colleague must be sensitive to the unfulfilled medical needs of our customers and be able to accurately represent those to the relevant Antech product managers

As well as clinical acumen, colleague will apply commercial considerations to prioritize their activities

A Colleague will have a service mindset, aiming to create customer value, loyalty, and trust.

Other duties as assigned

Typical Activities include:

Providing CE including, but not limited to, small group presentations, webinars, and conference presentations

Providing medical and technical advice on in-house diagnostics, reference laboratory diagnostics, and diagnostic imaging. This includes managing customer questions and addressing product concerns

Strategic planning with internal and external partners

Education and Experience:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent

At least five years’ experience in clinical practice, academia, research or industry Past clinical work with companion animals (dogs, cats, and horses) highly desired

At least seven years’ experience in the veterinary industry, preferably as a PSV, research, sales/account management, large account management, multi-site leadership and/or marketing.

Advanced qualification (e.g., specialist in internal medicine; MBA) strongly preferred

Ability to execute strategies in a complex, multi-faceted environment

Works on problems of diverse scope

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills; team oriented.

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong diplomacy and adaptability attributes

Must possess strong logic and reasoning skills

Must have the ability to plan for, prioritize and execute multiple recurring and ad hoc tasks

Strong analytical skills with extreme attention to detail

Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel, in person, in web-meetings, through email, and on the phone

Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use confidential information appropriately

Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively and effectively adapt to changing priorities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and strong typing ability

Travel:

The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding.  The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The associate is frequently required to hear and speak to use the telephone, make presentations and communicate with people in an office environment.  The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch.  The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment including the use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, database management, email, and the Internet.  The associate is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system.  The associate must occasionally use media equipment such as an overhead projector, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
