Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of the credentialing and privileging for members of the Professional Staff and Allied Health Professionals in compliance with regulatory standards and Professional Staff governance.Experience
3 years of experience in hospital or managed care credentialingPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degreeWorking knowledge of Cactus Software and related modules (e.g., Application Manager)Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business or health-related field; or equivalent experience in lieu of degreeCertification Summary
Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified ProviderCredentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of credentialing and privileging regulatory standards and demonstration of continued professional development in these areasWorking knowledge of Children’s Professional Staff governance documentsAbility to critically analyze data to create informed recommendations for credentialing, recredentialing and privileging. Ensure timely credentialing and re-credentialing of physicians and allied health professionals in compliance with Children’s policies, as well as The Joint Commission and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) regulatory standards.Compiles evaluate and present practitioner-specific primary source data collected as a part of the credentialing process.Critical analysis of practitioner-specific data to create informed recommendations to Professional Staff leadership.Partner with department and Professional Staff leaders to resolve practitioner-specific issues and concerns.Effectively utilize and maintain practitioner credentialing processes and information systems.Provide expertise and information regarding credentialing and re-credentialing theory, practices, and policies to both internal and external contacts.Attend at minimum two (2) evening Credentials Committee meetings annually.Perform other duties as assigned.Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, veteran status, disability or any other characteristic covered by applicable law.
