Work Schedule: Rotating shifts – predominantly day shift (7am-3:30pm) but will rotate to evening shift (1pm-9:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm) and night shift (9pm-7:30am or 11pm-7:30am); weekends and holidays; call; frequency and more specifics will be discussed during the interview


The Profess Staff Nurse, OR Expert I is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. The Profess Staff Nurse, OR Expert I is responsible for Operating Room responsibilities as detailed herein. The Profess Staff Nurse, OR Expert I works on complex surgical procedures in the Operating Room. The Profess Staff Nurse, OR Expert I establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities:

Patient assessment. Documentation. Utilization of preference cards, knowledge and experience to learn/know procedures and surgeon preferences to anticipate the needs of the patient and surgical teams (in the scrub role and circulator role). Translate learned skills to other facets of practice (e.g. using knowledge of how to scrub a procedure to better anticipate the needs of the team). Performs scrub role (requirement for RNs hired on or after July 1, 2023). *Performs other duties as assigned.
